Blogging For Blogging Sake

I’ve been writing structured articles for Dueling Librarians for so long I had forgotten that my personal blog can be a place where I post random musing and daily life stuff. I had forgotten my blog can be a diary of sorts, allowing the two or three of you who visit every week a glimpse into my strange mind.

personal blog

There are all kinds of blogs, and many definitions for the different types of blogs. The definition for me of a personal blog is one that tells a story, a personal story. It doesn’t matter how the story is told, by words, pictures, video, cartoons, artwork, audio, or combination of all of them. Storytelling defines a personal blog as personal. —Lorelle on WordPress

I had forgotten these very wise words from Lorelle.

In an attempt to start to write more regularly here, I will try to post twice a week, at the very least. The first endeavor will be the Haiku Humpday. Here I will post a haiku every Wednesday. The second will be the Weekend Writing Warriors post, where I will post eight to ten sentences from one of my short stories or the novel I’m working on. I figure these scheduled writing exercises will get me started on writing here a little more frequently.

Alright, time to get my five-seven-five on. Cheers!

Authors Note: Well, it’s been over a year since I wrote this, and well, things didn’t work out the way I had planned. I did keep up the Hump Day Haiku for a bit, along with the Weekend Writing Warriors, but then finishing my manuscript took priority. I’m happy to announce that I did indeed complete the first draft of my first book and am now trudging through edits. I’m happy to have finished it. Maybe I’ll start up the Hump Day Haikus again. They were a fun exercise.
